About Us

The global mental health crisis poses growing challenges, with rising rates of anxiety, depression and other mental health issues affecting millions. Many struggle to access traditional mental health services due to limited availability, time constraints, costs and stigma.

The Center for Behavioral Intervention Technologies (CBITs) at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine tackles these issues head-on through innovative digital solutions. We design, optimize and implement evidence-based, technology-driven interventions that are accessible, equitable and personalized.

We are making mental health support more readily available and effective to underserved populations through cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary collaboration with healthcare systems and community-based organizations.

CBITs advances four key initiatives:

  • Digital interventions for mental health and suicide prevention.
  • Real-world implementation of digital mental health solutions.
  • Conceptualizing, validating and implementing innovative research methods.
  • Training the next generation of digital mental health leaders.
