CBITs Launches "The Future of" Webinar Series

By Izabella Golley – August 15, 2025

The Center for Behavioral Intervention Technologies (CBITs) is excited to announce the launch of their newly rebranded digital mental health webinar series, “The Future of.” This quarterly series will explore the ever-evolving challenges and opportunities shaping the future of digital mental health.

The series builds on the foundation of CBITs’ original digital mental health monthly webinars. Originated with support from the Center’s NIMH-funded ALACRITY P50 grant, the series brings together a wide range of experts from academia, industry, and non-profit organizations to disseminate cutting-edge research at the intersection of clinical science and human-computer interaction. The webinar series provides a platform for exploring the latest advancements in digital mental health technologies and addressing the rising demand for digital solutions in mental health care.

The reimagined quarterly format reflects CBITs’ commitment to deeper, more focused conversations on the most pressing topic areas facing the field that affect individuals across sectors and disciplines. . Each session will feature expert insights on crucial subjects such as policy reform, treatment reimbursement, funding strategies, industry partnerships, and innovative implementation methods. CBITs also aims to promote the future of the field by having one seminar each year showcase a promising early stage innovator in digital mental health.

In 2025, CBITs has built momentum around science communication and the importance of making science accessible. This webinar series reflects that commitment by bringing together insights from leading professionals and creating space for people of all backgrounds to engage in conversations about future obstacles and opportunities in digital mental health.

Nick Jacobson, PhD, will kick off the new series on September 9 from 12–1 pm CT with The Future of AI in Digital Mental Health, featuring his talk, “Therabot: over 6 Years Developing and Evaluating the First Generative AI Psychotherapy Chatbot.” The following session on December 2 from 12-1pm CT will spotlight Clare Purvis, PsyD, who will focus on The Future of Industry and Digital Mental Health.

Looking ahead, The Future of Digital Mental Health webinar series will continue to promote thoughtful discussion, drive innovation, and bring together communities dedicated to advancing mental healthcare through digital solutions. The webinar welcomes all participants, as the future of digital mental health is shaped by everyone it serves.
